I've wanted to design for letterpress for a very long time, so what better occasion than my own wedding invitations? I love drawing symbols and icons, for both their form, and the way they can communicate things to specific people, like a code. Creating the design flat, and then seeing it printed and come to life with texture and typography that looks engraved into the thick paper was amazing. The invitations consisted of a two-sided card with the information and map, and a separate RSVP card which was also printed letterpress. These were printed by my friend David Caso over at Studio Industria in Brooklyn, NY. The magnesium and wood plates (bottom photo) used to print the invitations are stunning.
